At one corner where J.B. White Blvd. and S. Highpoint Rd. intersect in Spartanburg is a lovely area landscaped by neighborhood home owners with shrubs and shade plants. Unfortunately, close by is a wooded area with large trees — and kudzu! The photograph shows kudzu on the ground, and in the tall trees. The wooded area is within the floodplain of a nearby creek. June 2007.
Immediately behind the landscaped corner (background, left) is a steep bank with kudzu growing up from the lower floodplain. These two photographs show part of the bank before and after volunteers worked about two hours to remove kudzu. July 2007.
