Coalition volunteers begin to clear kudzu vines from a few small trees in a field. June 2005.
Actually, this is a small grove of not-so-small ash trees!
Volunteers successfully isolate the grove from surrounding kudzu. September 2005.
Progress continues until there is a kudzu-free island for the grove. Future options include putting a kudzu barrier fence around the grove. Barrier or no barrier, the site must be checked to make sure vines stay out of the trees. Eliminating all kudzu from the surrounding field would be an enormous undertaking for Coalition volunteers. October 2006 and September 2007.
